Linkshot ("we", "our", or "us") provides a screenshot-generation service and a companion browser extension ("Linkshot Tailwind Fit Check") that lets developers preview how their web pages render with injected Tailwind CSS. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using our website at uselinkshot.com or our browser extension, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Web Application
- Account data — name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile information.
- Billing data — payment processing is handled by Stripe. We store only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status; we never see or store your full card details.
- Usage data — screenshot requests, template configurations, and domain settings you create inside your dashboard.
- Log data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) retained for debugging and security purposes.
2.2 Browser Extension
The Linkshot browser extension operates entirely on-device. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Specifically:
- It reads the current page URL solely to render a local preview — this URL is never sent to our servers.
- It uses
storageonly to remember whether the preview overlay is toggled on or off for a given tab session. No personal information is stored. - It does not track browsing history, keystrokes, form inputs, or any other user activity.
- It does not communicate with any remote server or third-party service.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Linkshot service.
- Authenticate you and manage your subscription via Stripe.
- Send transactional emails (OTP login codes, billing receipts).
- Respond to support requests and improve our product.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling unrelated to operating Linkshot.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with the following categories of third-party service providers, solely to operate the service:

We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures including TLS encryption in transit and access controls on our database. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@uselinkshot.com.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@uselinkshot.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.
9. Children
Linkshot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, contact us and we will delete the data promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email address associated with your account or by a notice on our website at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
